Open
Water Dive Course - This
is designed for the first time diver and will assist in helping you feel
comfortable with diving, the water and the equipment that is used. Anyone
over the age of 12 and upwards may enroll for this course. This is a 6 to
9 day course that teaches you all aspects of scuba diving and the
practicalities of diving. You will receive:
5 Theory lectures where you will learn the basics of safety, dive charts,
planning your dive, medical issues concerned with diving etc. These
lectures give you quality time to get to know your fellow divers and
discuss fears and apprehensions that you may have about the underwater
world.
Approximately 8 hours of practice in a controlled swimming pool
environment where you will undergo training in how to use scuba equipment,
water safety and the 'buddy system'. 4 Open water dives from a dive boat on some of the most popular reefs in
the area where you will put all of the skill you have learnt into practice
while meeting shoals of tropical fish and their many friends.Included in this course:
All books, dive charts and logbooks *
Use of all scuba diving equipment for the duration of the course *
Open Water Diver certificate and certification card.
You will need:
Your own snorkeling gear and a sense of adventure.
The
Advanced Course is for those who have completed the Open Water Diver
course and wish to further their knowledge of diving in general. Once you
have completed this course you will be able to dive in many more locations
and up to 40 meters. The emphasis is on practical work more than dive
theory. Any Open Water certified diver may enrol for this course.
The Advanced Divers course is a 4 to 6 day course and covers theory and
practice of the following:
Underwater navigation *
Search and Recovery diving *
Deep-water diving. You will have an additional choice of any of the following:
Shark diving/
Environmental Naturalist diving/
Cave diving/
Drift diving/
Wreck diving.
Rescue
Diver Course - This
intensive course in essential for those wanting to take their dive careers
further. This program explores diver related problems such as in water,
both on the surface and below. You will be taught to perform simulated
boat and shore rescues and first aid techniques. Aqua Planet suggests that
all divers undertake this course and receive accreditation as a rescue
diver.
You will need to have performed 20 logged dives and pass a medical
examination.
Dive
Master Course - This
is a professionally rated course. Once qualified as a Dive Master you will
be able to guide and control dive groups as a profession, either part or
full time - and get paid for it! This is a rigorous course and you will
need to have undergone a full medical check-up before undertaking
training.
The course includes:
Extended Dive Theory (Videos, manuals and lectures). Participate in teaching Open Water pool sessions and training dives.
10 dives - starting with assisting the DM with divers and culminating with
leading the dive group.
All course material supplied.
