Ponta
do Ouro is Mocambique’s most southerly town, and translated into
English, means “Point of Gold”. There are many different stories as
to the origin of the name, from a sunken ship carrying gold bars, to a
beautiful golden sunrise. The historical truth might never be known, but
the modern day value of what is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled
bays in the world, can certainly lay claim to golden treasures. The
campsite of Ponta do Ouro is right on the beach, in the bay, and it is
within the grounds of the campsite, that Simply Scuba operates a large
and rustic dive camp. |
ACCOMMODATION

|
DIVE
CAMP : The accommodation of the dive camp
consists of 72 large dome tents. All tents are shaded under reed

the bay are basic chalets. There are 12 2-bed chalets, equipped with

ablutions. There are 15 4-bed chalets, each with their own bathroom,

In the centre of the campsite is a beach bar and restaurant,
and a small gift shop.

offered to those clients staying only within the grounds of the Dive

pre-booked prior to arrival. Individual meals or meal packages can be
