Ocean Divers International has been in Port Elizabeth since 1984. During that time we have been totally committed to the NAUI motto 'Safety through Education'. Countless charter boat-dives and over 8000 training courses with no serious mishap or injury is proof of that.

Leslie Boshoff took over the helm in 1994.  The business has grown during the last few years because of a Christian ethos and a dedication of its staff to build long term relationships with our customers. We are realizing more and more that the Eastern Cape population want more than just a diving adventure in the Port Elizabeth. We are starting to introduce new adventure sports to our business all the time, e.g. World Wide Travel, Water Skiing, Fishing trips, Dolphin and Whale Watching etc.

You will be trained in a HEATED pool.  It is too cold to train in a normal pool in the winter. We use a 3.5 meter deep, salt water pool at our training facilities at 10 Albert Road, Walmer.  This pool was specifically designed for SCUBA training.  You cannot master buoyancy and clearing techniques in water much shallower than 3 meters. With the heated training pool at the same venue as the equipment, you won't have to take all your dive gear to heated public pools. We have an 18 year clean safety record and a long term commitment to SCUBA Diving in the Eastern Cape. We will refund any course fees if you are not totally satisfied with the training received from our establishment. We stock the widest variety of dive equipment locally available.  If we don't have it we can't get it. We have a Clean Air Station using 320 liters/min Bauer compressor and 300 liter Air Banks. Nitrox Facilities on the premises. Our equipment room contains more than twenty five sets of SCUBA gear. We also rent the full spectrum of Basic Equipment. We have three dedicated lecture facilities, including T.V., video, overhead and slide projector. We offer dive charters to all the Dive Locations in and around the bay. (Including the Riy Banks). We offer at least five dive travel opportunities every year (Aliwal Shoal, Protea Banks, Mozambique, Red Sea and Maldives) We offer further training up to and including instructor trainer course (NAUI Course Director on Staff).We use only Internationally qualified instructors.  We have eight full time and ten part time instructors, each with their own interests and expertise. We are the only local dive organisation to offer NAUI and PADI training.  You can choose. NAUI Scuba Diver is a thrilling introduction to a world that is totally new to most of us.  This course is the opening of a window into another universe, a weightless, timeless, color-filled world.  Upon completion of this course you will be certified to dive worldwide in conditions similar to the ones you have been taught in.  You will learn how to be a safe SCUBA diver. Courses run either on a full-time or part-time basis.  A list of course dates and schedules is available from the shop.
