"The Residency" is a gracious, historical, multi award winning  wood and iron settler home built circa 1898 on the Eastern Cape sunshine coastline and malaria free Game Route, midway between Port Elizabeth and East London. Originally built as the summer home for a Grahamstown district Magistrate "The Residency" has now been restored to it's former glory with it's polished Oregon wooden floors throughout and furnished with period cottage pieces and colourful fabrics. There are beautiful views looking seaward over the valley from the wrap-around veranda and the secluded and tranquil garden is home to over 40 different species of bird life. Some of our winged residents return season after season to roost and produce their offspring. Binoculars and bird identification books are at hand to further enhance this experience, particularly early morning and late afternoons (when they come home to roost) while enjoying coffee, tee or sundowners.

DESCRIPTION

The Lemon Room -  With luxury queen size bed, en-suite facilities, Victorian ball and claw bath and shower.  The room has a cosy lounge area and complementary sherry.

The Burgundy Room - With luxury queen size bed, en-suite facilities and shower.

The Peach Room - With luxury twin beds, en-suite facilities and shower.

The Green Room - With luxury twin beds, en-suite facilities and victorian ball and claw bath.  This was the main bathroom of the original old house.

RATES

Our Rates vary seasonally and according to the room requested per person per night and includes a hearty English or Continental breakfast. Rates are on request. Single rates are available on request.Due to seasonal demands prior bookings are advisable to avoid disappointment. A deposit will be required to secure your booking. Credit cards and travellers cheques are most welcome.We are proud to be accolade accredited with the prestigious Portfolio Bed and Breakfast Collection, Satour (South African Tourism Board) and the Automobile Association of South Africa official Travel Guide, as well as the Lonely Planet. Should you have any other additional particular activity requirements we shall gladly assist you where possible.
